Our 10 Favorite Family-Friendly North Fork Wineries

Yep, we’re talking kid-friendly wineries, and don’t come at us for it. With the opportunity to sip wine at over 60 vineyard tasting rooms across the Fork, we’ve discovered that some are more kid-friendly than others — and we totally get it. We have you covered if you plan to taste wine while your kids play or hang out nearby. Here are 10 of our favorite family-friendly North Fork wineries and our take on why visiting each is just fiiiiinnneee.

Terra Vite Winery and Vineyard

Few things are better than an all-in-one spot where you can imbibe and feed your kids dinner. This Jamesport boutique vineyard got the “We need food!” memo. Beyond the charcuterie board —though it’s divine —there’s also a substantial menu, including paninis like the caprese, a kid fav.

250 Manor Lane, Jamesport

Current hours: Wednesday and Thursday, 12 to 5 p.m.; Friday, 12 to 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Harbes Vineyard

A winery tasting room on the same property as a family-friendly farm makes this pick a no-brainer spot to visit while enjoying a day out with the kids. Spend part of the day doing their thing and the rest doing yours. Win, win. Or should we say win, wine?!

715 Sound Ave., Mattituck

Current hours: Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Poppy & Rose Wine Co.

Taste small-batch wine by Poppy & Rose Wine Co. at Woodside Orchards in Aquebogue. This spot checks boxes for everyone in your group: hard cider, boutique winery, apple cider doughnuts, board games, fire pits, in-season apple picking, and the list goes on.

729 Main Rd., Aquebogue

Current hours: 11:30 to 5:30 Thursday through Monday, closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyards

Gathering with a large group (including kids!) at this Baiting Hollow vineyard is made easy with tons of space to spread out, an on-premises pizza truck, live music, and more. We especially love The Backyard for groups with kids.

2114 Sound Ave., Calverton

Current hours: Friday through Sunday, 12 to 6 p.m.

Palmer Vineyards

Casual setting, stunning sunsets, and an in-house pizza truck?! Easy yes! Our favorite time to visit is on Fridays, as this winery hosts Sunset Fridays through October. Enjoy wine tastings, live music, and wood-fired pizza until 9 p.m.

5120 Sound Ave., Riverhead

Current hours: Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Sparkling Pointe Tasting House

Sip sparkling with your kid crew nearby at this Southold winery. Though their family-friendly Fizz & Fry Monday nights are coming to an end, the tasting house does welcome well-behaved children to join their parents. Outside food is not permitted, but charcuterie and snacks are available for purchase.

39750 County Rd. 48, Southold

Current hours: Tuesday to Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m,; Monday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Corey Creek Tap Room

Small-batch wines and a spacious, grassy yard off the back patio for playing and enjoying with your crew make this Southold tasting room one of our favorites. Bring a picnic blanket or snag one of the picnic tables. Also, peep the winery's events calendar for the live music lineup and other happenings.

45470 Main Rd., Southold

Current hours: Sunday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Pugliese Vineyards

Enjoy this winery’s park-like setting with picnic tables, a large pond, and mature trees and plantings. Outside food is welcome; bring a picnic blanket and cozy in with your family.

34515 Main Rd., Cutchogue

Current hours: Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Osprey’s Dominion

With outdoor games like volleyball, bocce, and cornhole, this winery is a popular destination for families and groups. Outside food is welcome.

44075 Main Rd., Peconic

Current hours: Open daily 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pindar Vineyards

Bring your own food and picnic blankets, but leave the kids’ drinks at home because this Peconic winery offers non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice flights infused with fruit flavors. How fun is that?

37645 Main Rd., Peconic

Current hours: Open daily 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
