Celebrate spooky season with your petite crew at these 20 family-friendly Halloween events on the North Fork. From sweet thrills to creepy chills, don’t miss these North Fork Halloween happenings. 

Not-so-Spooky Haunted Tree House at Long Island Aquarium

Long Island Aquarium, Riverhead (Entrance located behind the Hyatt Place Hotel, through Scoops Ice Cream Shop within Treasure Cove Resort Marina.)

Fridays and Saturdays in October, from 7 to 9 p.m. (weather dependent)

At this after-dark immersive experience, kids ages 3 to 11 are invited to climb five levels of Long Island Aquarium’s haunted treehouse decked out with spooky fun. The Halloween excursion also features pumpkin decorating, animal interactions, crafts, arcade games, and more. $25/person; adult admission free with a paid child ticket; walk-ins are welcome, or purchase advance tickets here. 

Annual Greenport Village Halloween Parade and Celebration

Greenport Village, Greenport

Saturday, October 31; 11:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Village-wide trick-or-treating with allergy-safe stations, “Witches in the Window” scavenger hunt, and additional spooky activities. Halloween parade lineup at 10:30 a.m. at Floyd Memorial Library ends in Mitchell Park.

Harbes Orchard’s Spooky Night Maze

Harbes Orchard, Riverhead

October 10, 11, 17, and 24; 7-10 p.m. with last admission at 9:30 p.m.

Family-friendly maze with creepy characters is a friendly fright for daring people of all ages. $26/person, with no reservations or ticketing. Bring your own flashlight or purchase one on-site. More details here.

Haunted Hollow at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp

Baiting Hollow Scout Camp, Calverton

Fridays and Saturdays in October beginning 10/16; 7-11 p.m., rain or shine

Haunts and thrills along a haunted trail and haunted house, with classic Halloween movies playing all night long. $15/person. While this frightfully fun experience is family-friendly, it is geared towards children ages 8+. More info here. 

Bats, Barnacles & Broomsticks Halloween Party at Long Island Aquarium

Saturday, October 24; 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

While seeing all the aquarium has to offer, children can trick-or-treat and visit vendor tables, enjoy giveaways, and win prizes. Kids ages 12 and under in costume will receive 50% off aquarium admission with a paying adult. The party is free to attend with aquarium admission. More details here.

Trick or Treat in the Vines at Baiting Hollow Vineyards
