PSA to my fellow parents: Yeah, I’m not sure how either, but the February break is a mere few weeks away! Avoid screentime overload and make the most of your North Fork staycation by signing up for one of these winter break camps or drop-in programs. From art to marine animals, there's something for every North Fork kid. 

Winter Fun-cation at Long Island Aquarium, Riverhead

Ideal for working parents, Long Island Aquarium’s Winter Fun-cation is the perfect solution for Winter Break. Campers, ages 5 to 11, will tour the aquarium, feed the sting rays, check out the sea lion show, visit the arcade, watch a movie, craft, and more. Winter Fun-cation runs daily from Monday, February 16, through Friday, February 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Register for the whole week for $275 or by day for $65/day.  $12/day lunch add-on option available. Winter Break Pop-ups at Bella Anima Parties, Wading River

Bella Anima Parties is hosting a week full of pop-ups that your North Fork kid won’t want to miss. On Monday, February 15, and Tuesday, February 16, get glammed up K-Pop Demon Hunters style. $45/child. On Wednesday, February 18, and Thursday, February 19, choose between wicked and good at the Wicked Glam Pop Up. $45/child. Then on Friday, February 20, have a thrilling time at the Zombies Slime Party. $52/child. Each experience includes color braids, manicures, makeup, and face gems, glitter tattoos, bracelet making, singing, and lemonade, with an option for color gel hairstyles, tattoos, face paint, bracelet making, singing, and lemonade for $25/child. Portrait Collage Workshop at VEME Studios, Greenport

Drop off your art-loving kiddo at VEME Studios’ Portrait Collage Kids’ Workshop on Friday, February 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. There, kids will explore shapes, color, and their imagination as they create playful portraits using bright colored paper. This session is for children ages 5 and up and costs $45/child. Register here

Kids’ Jiu Jitsu Winter Camp at North Fork Jiu Jitsu, Cutchogue

This kids’ winter camp will teach the art of Jiu Jitsu technique, fitness and positional training, live rounds, and competition-style matches. The camp is open to all children ages 6 to 12, no Jiu-Jitsu experience necessary. The camp will run from Monday, February 1,6 through Friday, February 20. St. Patrick’s Sweet Treat Party at The Sweet Escape Macarons & Candy Shop, Wading River

Sweeten up the break with this treat party! On Monday, February 16, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., with 50-minute time slots, The Sweet Escape is hosting its St. Patrick’s Sweet Treat Party. There, each kid will dip and decorate Oreos, Rice Krispies, and pretzels, then participate in games and temporary tattoos. The cost is $20/child. Register here

Three Days of Creating with Artfully Long Island at Hotel Moraine, Greenport

From Monday, February 16, through Wednesday, February 18, kids, ages 6 to 12, are invited to join Nicole of Artfully Long Island at Hotel Moraine for process art projects, including weaving, sewing, clay sculptures, mixed media collaging, and more. This three-day camp will also feature a Comp Saw and the Maker Station. The cost is $150/child, with payment due by February 10. The camp will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and is drop-off only. Outdoor Adventure February Break Program at Peconic Community School, Cutchogue

Tuesday, February 17, through Friday, February 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., drop the kiddos (ages 4 to 10) at Peconic Community School for four days of outdoor adventure. Single-day options also available. At this camp, kids will bundle up and head outdoors to explore the magic of winter through hands-on play and discovery. Winter Break Drop-in Fun at the Cutchogue New Suffolk Free Library, Cutchogue

Drop by the Children’s Room anytime during Winter Break week for some wintery fun! Kids can enjoy a scavenger hunt, yoga and stretching stations, tangram puzzles, board games, and life-sized games of Chess and Connect 4. Complete all activities to earn a prize. Renaissance Kids Arts Camp at East End Arts, Riverhead

Young creators ages 5 to 10 are invited to dive into an immersive, hands-on artistic exploration during the Winter Break at East End Arts. This camp, which is offered for the full week, Monday, February 16 through 20, or by single day, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will feature a different theme and project each day, including fairy house miniatures, origami explosion books, and a group mosaic mural. Paint, Learn, and Plant Workshop at Valentina Verde, Wading River

Calling all dirt-loving kids! This workshop is for you! Head to Valentina Verde on Monday, February 16, at 1 p.m. for a Paint, Learn, and Plant Workshop. There, kids will learn basic plant care, paint a terra-cotta pot, plant an easy-care spider plant, and take home a Plant Certificate with simple care instructions. Kids Play Day at The Heart of It, Aquebogue

Need to jumpstart your Winter Break week with two hours of quiet time? The Heart of It has you covered. Drop off your kids ages 3 and up for two hours of open play.
