  1. Farm Country Kitchen

    513 W. Main St., Riverhead

Enjoy an elevated meal while dining at full-service outdoor tables overlooking the Peconic River. Kids’ menu choices include pasta or chicken cutlets with chips.

  2. Turkuaz Grill

    40 McDermott Ave., Riverhead

This Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant is perfect for excellent food in a family-friendly, casual setting with outdoor picnic tables on the Peconic River Waterfront. Tons for kids to choose from on both the regular and kids’ menu.

  3. Barrow Food House

    452 Main Rd., Riverhead

Barrow Food House’s side patio is one of our family’s favorite warm-weather spots to enjoy a good meal with friends. Window service makes it a breeze!

  4. Little Lucharitos

    487 Main Rd., Aquebogue

With a lively and vibrant al fresco setting,  Little Lucharitos is ideal for families looking to kick back and nosh on some killer Tex-Mex. Kids’ options are plentiful.

  5. Tucker’s Taproom & Smokehouse

    9095 Sound Ave., Mattituck

Picnic tables on the patio paired with some BBQ and a well-rounded kids’ menu make this Mattituck spot an easy choice for lunch or dinner.

  6. Braun’s Seafood Kitchen

    30840 Main Rd., Cutchogue

One of our go-to spots for a quick bite becomes even better when it’s warm enough to dine outdoors. Grab a picnic table and order inside for fresh seafood in a casual setting.

  7. The North Fork Shack

    41150 County Rd. 48, Southold

Order inside, grab a buzzer, and pick your outdoor spot in this grassy yard complete with picnic tables and shade sails. Think fast-food but with fresh, local ingredients.

  8. The Shoals Dockside

    61600 Main Rd., Southold

Higher-end, but not stuffy, and still kid-friendly. We look forward to what The Shoals Dockside food truck rolls out this year when they open for the season on the 21st.

  9. Southold Fish Market

    64755 NY-25, Southold

Nothing says “high season” like sitting outside at SFM on a warm day. With picnic tables directly outside the market, plus a few more just North of the parking lot, snagging a table is easier than you might think. But even if you have to wait a bit, we promise it's oh, so worth it. No dedicated kids’ menu here, but plenty of seafood and non-seafood items to choose from on the menu.

  10. Eddie’s at Silver Sands

    1400 Silvermere Rd., Greenport

Bay-side wood-fired pizza (and so much more) with our feet in the sand? Sign us up forever. Kid- and parent-approved, this spot is a 10. Reservations are highly recommended.

  11. 1943 Pizza Bar

    30 Main St., Greenport

There’s something very special about sitting in Stirling Square and noshing on the best pizza with your crew, but tables are extremely limited, so be prepared to wait or come early.

  12. Billy’s by the Bay

    2530 Manhanset Ave., Greenport

Family-friendly and fun, Billy’s by the Bay feels like a vacation every single time. While there isn’t a dedicated kids’ menu, there are plenty of kid-friendly items on the menu to satisfy even the pickiest kiddo.
